The EmpoweringHER Seminar & Business Awards returns to the Inanda Club in Johannesburg on 15 November 2025, marking five years of spotlighting South Africa’s most inspiring women in leadership, business, and community development.
Organised by the Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation in partnership with the Hollywood Foundation, the event has grown into one of the country’s most anticipated gatherings celebrating women who are transforming industries and shaping society.
This year’s edition, themed “Women: The Boldest Strokes of Colour,” honours the vibrancy, vision, and impact that women bring into every facet of life. It also represents a defining milestone for EmpoweringHER, one that recognises “The Power of 50.” Since the first event, forty women have been honoured for their achievements. The 2025 ceremony will see ten more added to this legacy, forming a collective of fifty trailblazers who continue to influence South Africa’s social and economic landscape.

Speaking on the milestone, Nomzamo Mbatha, founder of the Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation, described this year as deeply significant. “Since our first gathering, we’ve honoured forty incredible women. In 2025, we welcome ten more who have demonstrated extraordinary courage, creativity, and leadership. Together, they represent ‘The Power of 50’, a legacy of women shaping the present and future of our nation,” she said.
For the Hollywood Foundation, the event’s fifth anniversary reflects both continuity and transformation. “EmpoweringHER has evolved from a moment of recognition into a movement for sustainable empowerment,” said Vuyisile Ngobese, Public Relations Officer for the foundation. “Through this platform, we’re not only celebrating women’s achievements but creating spaces for growth, opportunity, and collaboration.”
The 2025 programme promises an immersive day of dialogue, learning, and inspiration. Guests can expect insightful panel discussions featuring leading voices in business and leadership, a keynote address designed to spark innovation, and the awards ceremony celebrating this year’s honourees.

True to its theme, the event will bring together women whose influence continues to colour South Africa’s social fabric, from entrepreneurs and executives to community builders and change makers. With only 300 seats available, the gathering remains intentionally intimate, offering attendees the chance to connect meaningfully and leave inspired.
Since its inception, EmpoweringHER has invested over R3.2 million in its mission to support and celebrate women, a lasting commitment to empowerment that goes beyond a single day of recognition.
